What the collection draws on

The three stated influences pull in different directions. Racing icons point to the drivers and cars that built McLaren's reputation. Engineering points to the machinery itself. Modern F1 fandom points to the audience the sport has gathered away from the track. Folding all three into one runway set is the organising idea of the project, and it is a broader brief than a straightforward archive exercise.
