Both Spanish clubs are reported to be monitoring the Manchester City striker, while Chelsea are said to be increasingly confident of signing a Bournemouth player.
Steffen Prößdorf · CC BY-SA 4.0Barcelona and Real Madrid are reported to have watched Erling Haaland at Anfield, the latest indication that both Spanish clubs are monitoring the Manchester City striker. Word of the scouting trip emerged on 13 October. Neither club has confirmed an approach, and no fee or contract detail has surfaced.
The reports describe continuing attention rather than a new move. Haaland has been linked with both clubs before, and as one of the most closely followed forwards in the game, speculation about his future rarely goes quiet for long. Nothing in the reports suggests that stage has now been passed.

Why the Anfield interest matters
MichaelEmilio · CC BY 4.0A scouting visit is the earliest stage of recruitment and carries no obligation on anyone. Clubs commonly watch a player several times before deciding whether to make contact with his employer, and plenty of those trips never develop into anything at all. The notable element here is that two of Europe's biggest clubs are being connected with the same forward at the same moment, which keeps a story alive that Haaland's current employers have shown no sign of wanting to discuss.
It is worth being precise about what has and has not happened. Watching a player is not the same as bidding for him, and no bid has been confirmed by any of the clubs named.
Chelsea and the move for Alex Scott
Like tears in rain · CC BY-SA 4.0Separately, Chelsea are reported to be growing in confidence about signing Bournemouth's Alex Scott. No detail has been given on how a deal would be structured, and neither Bournemouth nor Chelsea has announced a bid, an agreement or a medical. It is also unclear whether the confidence described reflects an offer already on the table or merely early optimism on Chelsea's side.
What is not yet known
- Whether Barcelona or Real Madrid have made any contact with Manchester City about Haaland.
- Which fixture the Anfield scouting trip related to, and what either club took from it.
- Whether Chelsea have made a formal offer for Alex Scott, and at what price.
- Whether Bournemouth have agreed to sell, and whether personal terms have been discussed.
- When, or whether, a medical or an announcement might take place in either case.
None of the clubs involved has commented publicly on the Haaland reports or on Chelsea's interest in Scott. That silence is normal this early in a transfer story, but it also means the position of each club remains unknown.
What would change that is straightforward: a submitted bid, an accepted offer, agreed personal terms or a scheduled medical. Until one of those appears, both items sit in the speculative tier of the transfer market, where interest is genuine but commitment is not.
