What Sportsback collects, and why.

Sportsback collects the minimum needed to run a publication: aggregate analytics about which stories are read, and technical information such as your browser and approximate region, used to serve the right edition and to keep the site working.

We do not sell personal data. Where analytics or embedded content set cookies, non-essential cookies are off until you choose otherwise.

Your choices

You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data rights, those rights apply regardless of where Sportsback operates.

Messages you send us

The contact form asks for your name, an email address and your message. We store them so we can reply to you and keep a record of corrections that were requested — the editorial standards page commits us to that record.

We use the address only to answer you. It is not added to any mailing list, is not used for marketing, and is not shared with anyone else. We keep messages for two years, and correction requests for as long as the correction record is published.

We also store a one-way hash derived from your network address, which lets us spot automated flooding of the form. It cannot be reversed into your address and is not used to identify you.

You can ask us to delete your message and address at any time by writing to us through the same form.
